Dedication
Department training meetings are held on the second Wednesday (7pm-10pm) and the following Saturday(8am-noon) of each month.
Medical recertification hours are offered by LDCFM on the third consecutive Tuesday (7pm-9pm) and Wednesday (7pm-9pm) of each month.
Department Business Meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday (7pm-10pm) of the month. Members are required to attend ALL MANDATORY TRAININGS and at least 80% of the total number of meetings each quarter.
Members must also staff the station (ride-out) a minimum of 12 hours per quarter. Those living outside Douglas County must complete 72 hours of ride-out per quarter. Many members far exceed these requirements.

Minimum Certification
Members of the department are required to be nationally certified in "Firefighter I."

Not certified?
Every spring a recruit class is offered. The class is approximately four months long, starting in February. Upon completion of the class, recruits will be prepared to test for "Firefighter I", "Firefighter II", "Hazmat Awareness", and "Hazmat Operations." Classes are typically scheduled every Tuesday and Thursday night from 6pm until 10pm and every other Saturday from 8am until noon.
